Pet Care

So, what can mobile vets actually do?

When it comes to the care of our pets no one wants to cut corners, or obtain care that is less than the highest standard, and nor should you. Our pets are our family and should be treated as such. In the last couple of weeks with isolation restrictions forcing people to source other means of obtaining even the most traditional of goods and services we are finding ourselves answering one question a lot more. So, what can mobile vets actually do?

It’s a good question and one that we truly are excited to answer. We love getting this question because it allows us the opportunity to explain to our clients the extent of the services and care that we can provide to you and your pets in the comfort of your own home. In short, the answer is that we can provide 98% of the services and treatment you would receive at a traditional clinic. The two services that we can’t offer when treating your pets at home are x-rays and surgery. Keep in mind however, industry data tells us that the likelihood of your pet requiring an x-ray or surgery is tiny.

In fact, only 2% of general consultations will result in either one of those services being required, meaning 98% of visits and pet health care can be handled in the comfort of your own home. In addition, should you be in the 2% bracket, in need of an x-ray or surgery, we have a vast network of partner clinics that we can refer you to for this care, without you having to pay a general consultation fee again, for that work. It’s all part of the service we provide to our customers.

It’s surprising just how much can be done for your pet at home isn’t it! We love hearing the surprise when we tell our customers the in-home services and care we can offer are:

  • Diagnostics such as blood tests, cytology and lab work including a full range of blood, urine, faecal and bacterial analysis
  • Ear conditions
  • Eye conditions
  • Skin conditions
  • Vaccinations and microchipping
  • Treatment of joint pain and lameness
  • Dispensing of all medications
  • Bandaging and wound care
  • Peaceful euthanasia including cremation

We have invested heavily in ensuring that your pet only has to go through the stress of going into a clinic on the rare occasion they require an x-ray or surgery. Otherwise, they can be treated in the comfort of their own home, stress-free, which leads to better health outcomes for your beloved pets.

Vets on Call has thoughtfully created a service and the technology to accompany it that means the best care is no longer in a clinic but in the home.
